Dear
,

You probably can't make it to South Charlotte in person tomorrow, Saturday, April 6th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to
join the community of kindred writers, inspiring prompts, and renewing space that awaits...

But just in case, I wanted you to know there are three spaces left. Does one of them have your name on it? Call me at 704-494-9961 or email me at
info@wordplaynow.com and I'll get you all the information you need to participate at the ten-year rollback  Seasonal Writing Retreat price of just $60 (includes fresh, healthy lunch and all supplies).

And either way, I hope you'll take a few moments to read Mark R Slaughter's poem and write about falling in love... (my 29-year wedding anniversary is this Sunday, so I have love on my mind!)

Daffodils

I fell in love --
Taken by the innocence of
Child-face daffodils:

Their perky April fanfares --
Clarion calls from yellow-ochre brass bands
Presaging, rejoicing, calling us:

"Here we are! Here we are!"

                   ~ Mark R Slaughter

And don't forget about that, from now through Monday, you can purchase up to four 2013 seasonal retreats for $60 each.

I know you have questions, so here are the answers.

The retreat will be held from 10 1.m. to 5 p.m. in South Charlotte on these dates:

Spring -- April 6th

Summer -- June 8th

Fall -- October 26th

Winter -- December 21st

Yes, something might come up between now and when retreat time comes. So, while your retreat purchases are not refundable, they are transferrable - to another 2013 seasonal retreat as long as space is available, to another person as a gift or a purchase from you, or to another WordPlay-sponsored 2013 class, workshop, retreat, or coaching/critique service.

MAUREEN RYAN GRIFFIN, an award-winning poetry and nonfiction writer, is the author of Spinning Words into Gold, a Hands-On Guide to the Craft of Writing, a grief workbook entitled I Will Never Forget You, and two collections of poetry, This Scatter of Blossoms and When the Leaves Are in the Water. She believes, as author Julia Cameron says, "We are meant to midwife dreams for one another."

Maureen also believes that serious "word work" requires serious WordPlay, as play is how we humans best learn -- and perform. What she loves best is witnessing all the other dreams that come true for her clients along the way. Language, when used with intentionality and focus, is, after all, serious fuel for joy. Here's to yours!
