Dear ,
I pray you and your loved ones are doing well as we all cope with the stress and uncertainty of these days. I know Thomas Paine was not thinking of the coronavirus when he wrote, “These are the times that try men's (and women's) souls. . . . yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the
triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.”
As we hunker down, what we value as most dear rises to the surface. We get to see what we are made of, and, if we don't like what we see, we get to remake ourselves into something better, into our
best.
And we may have extra time to take advantage of opportunities to grow and learn.
So this seems like the perfect time to share the author page of the Charlotte Readers Podcast website with you. (If you're not familiar with Charlotte Readers Podcast, this brain child of Landis Wade, author and past president of the Charlotte Writers Club, features a wealth of Charlotte area authors via rich
conversations about their work and readings as well.)
Landis Wade
The author's page (https://charlottereaderspodcast.com/authors/) lists all
the author's that have been featured thus far (it's updated monthly).
When you click on an author’s name, you'll be taken to that author's episode, complete with audio player, feature image and show notes about the episode. I've loved learning about other Charlotte-area writers and their books. This is a great way to expand your writers' network as well. Reach out to authors whose work inspires you, and you may just make a new friend who will be inspired by your
writing.
I hope this resource adds brightness to your days.
Love and light,
Maureen

MAUREEN RYAN GRIFFIN, an award-winning poetry and nonfiction writer, is the author of Spinning Words into Gold, a Hands-On Guide to the Craft of
Writing, a grief workbook entitled I Will Never Forget You, and three collections of poetry, Ten Thousand Cicadas Can't Be Wrong, This Scatter of Blossoms and When the Leaves Are in the Water.
She believes, as author Julia Cameron says, “We are meant to midwife dreams for one another.” Maureen also believes that serious “word
work” requires serious WordPlay, as play is how we humans best
learn—and perform. What she loves best is witnessing all the other dreams that come true for her clients along the way. Language, when used with intentionality and focus, is, after all, serious fuel for joy. Here's to yours!
