[WordPlay] Happy New Year! And a whole host of prompts to start it off right!

Published: Sun, 01/01/17

Dear ,

I hope your holidays have been filled with happiness and celebratory words galore!
My husband Richard and I feasted with family and friends in various configurations throughout, and it was lovely to sink into some time off to enjoy our loved ones. No worries, thoughyou'll receive your first Word-zine of 2017 tomorrow, when I'm back to WordPlaying in earnest.

Meanwhile, just in case you want to start off your year writing, here's that "host of prompts" I promised in the subject line, or as Writer's Digest, where they're from, calls them, a "prompt boot camp": http://www.writersdigest.com/writing-prompts. (A good reminder of the difference language makes—take your pick between a "host" and a "boot"!!!

So grateful to be connected to you in this new year through our mutual love of words and wordplay...

Love and light,

Maureen

One of her long-held dreams came true in July of 2015 when Garrison Keillor read one of her poems on The Writer's Almanac. She believes, as author Julia Cameron says, "We are meant to midwife dreams for one another."

Maureen also believes that serious "word work" requires serious WordPlay, as play is how we humans best learn—and perform. What she loves best is witnessing all the other dreams that come true for her clients along the way. Language, when used with intentionality and focus, is, after all, serious fuel for joy. Here's to yours!
