Dear ,
It is a crazy busy time for most of us, yes? Which is why,
counter-intuitive as it is, it makes sense to stop and breathe and remember to be grateful that you are here, to connect with your purpose and your own heart.
If a WordPlay writing retreat would help you to do that, and you can get away, I would love to have you join me. Details below.
And if not, I invite you to read the
lovely poem below and let it all the way in....
Peace, love, and light,
Maureen
Winter: Tonight: Sunset
by David Budbill
Tonight at sunset walking on the snowy road, my shoes crunching on the frozen gravel, first through the woods, then out into the open fields past a couple trailers and some pickup trucks, I stop and look at the
sky. Suddenly: orange, red, pink, blue, green, purple, yellow, gray, all at once and everywhere. I pause in this moment at the beginning of my old age and I say a prayer of gratitude for getting to this evening a prayer for being here, today, now, alive in this life,
in this evening, under this sky.
I found this poem on David Budbill's Facebook page. Many other lovely things there as well! Check it out...

her students and instill a love of books. She left full-time teaching in 2000 to create a literacy enrichment program for young children. More WordPlay opportunities here. And 2016 Gift of Memoir class details are on the website here. MAUREEN RYAN GRIFFIN, an award-winning poetry and nonfiction writer, is the author of Spinning Words into Gold, a Hands-On Guide to the Craft of Writing, a grief workbook entitled I Will Never Forget You, and two collections of poetry, This Scatter of Blossoms and When the Leaves Are in the Water. She believes, as author Julia Cameron says, "We are meant to midwife dreams for one another."
Maureen also believes that serious "word
work" requires serious WordPlay, as play is how we humans best learn—and perform. What she loves best is witnessing all the other dreams that come true for her clients along the way. Language, when used with intentionality and focus, is, after all, serious fuel for joy. Here's to yours! |
