[WordPlay] If you don't want to purchase a sale copy of Ten Thousand Cicadas, delete this message

Published: Wed, 11/26/14

Dear ,

I am truly not being coy or trying some backhanded marketing ploy! One of my Word-zine readers wrote to tell me that when she tried to order my new poetry book on sale, after reading in Monday's zine that she could do this until Monday, December 1st, the book was only available at full price. (A communication mix-up with my publisher.)

I do my best to be a woman of my word! So I have arranged to get you, and anyone else who is interested, the deal I promised. Click here to order via credit card or by mailing in a check.

Sorry for the mix-up, thanks for reading, and have an awesome Thanksgiving!

Love and light and song,

Maureen
Joseph Bathanti, former poet laureate of North Carolina and author of numerous books of poetry and prose wrote:  "A literal chorus emanates from Ten Thousand Cicadas Can’t Be Wrong, Maureen Ryan Griffin’s New and Selected Poems, in language that is wonderfully, compulsively precise. Griffin inspects and catalogues the grand and the infinitesimal as through a jeweler’s loupe – parsing, quantifying, enumerating and especially illuminating. There’s not a jot of tedium involved in the tally – for the poet or for the reader – but rather a joy born of the sheer expanse of the world Griffin claims not merely for herself, but returns to us transformed. This is a magnanimous, glowing volume." This is the last week to order your copy for the hugely discounted pre-publication price of $8.50 by clicking on this link. Must order by midnight Monday, December 1st.

MAUREEN RYAN GRIFFIN, an award-winning poetry and nonfiction writer, is the author of Spinning Words into Gold, a Hands-On Guide to the Craft of Writing, a grief workbook entitled I Will Never Forget You, and two collections of poetry, This Scatter of Blossoms and When the Leaves Are in the Water. She believes, as author Julia Cameron says, "We are meant to midwife dreams for one another."

Maureen also believes that serious "word work" requires serious WordPlay, as play is how we humans best learn -- and perform. What she loves best is witnessing all the other dreams that come true for her clients along the way. Language, when used with intentionality and focus, is, after all, serious fuel for joy. Here's to yours!
